What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary holistic therapy based on the principle that reflex points on the feet, hands, and face are said to correspond to different parts of the body. By applying gentle pressure, reflexology helps reduce stress. It is a non-invasive therapy suitable for most people, but it is not a replacement for medical treatment.
Scope & safety: Reflexology is complementary and does not replace medical care. For new, persistent or acute symptoms, please consult your GP.
Types of Reflexology Offered
- Reflexology (Foot Reflexology): A classic treatment using mapped points on the feet and lower calves. Sessions are adapted to your comfort to help calm the body and ease tension.
- Hot Stone Reflexology: Combines foot reflexology with heated smooth stones to deepen muscle relaxation.
- Facial Reflexology: Uses light finger pressure on facial reflex points rather than the feet. Full details are on that page.
Benefits You May Notice
- Deep relaxation and reduced stress levels
- Greater sense of calm and emotional balance
- Forty-five minutes of quiet, uninterrupted time set aside for you
- Pressure adjusted to what you find comfortable, and changed whenever you ask
Results vary; treatments are tailored to your comfort and goals.

Safety, Suitability & What to Expect
Reflexology is generally safe for all ages, but is not advised during certain medical conditions or early pregnancy without medical consent. Your therapist will conduct a health screening to ensure reflexology suits your circumstances and adjust pressure accordingly.
You stay clothed throughout — shoes and socks come off, nothing else does — while Paula works on mapped points on the feet and lower calves. Sessions run 45 minutes, and you can ask for firmer or lighter pressure at any point. If you are pregnant, see our maternity reflexology page.

Reflexology FAQs
Is reflexology safe if I have a medical condition?
Often yes. We’ll screen for suitability and adapt your session. For specific conditions (e.g., recent surgery, circulatory issues), please check with your GP.
What should I wear and how should I prepare?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. For foot sessions, remove shoes/socks. For facial, minimal makeup is helpful but not essential. Arrive a few minutes early to settle.
How many sessions will I need?
Some people feel benefits after 1-2 sessions; many choose weekly for 3-4 weeks, then monthly maintenance. We’ll tailor a plan to your goals and schedule.
What’s the difference between foot and facial reflexology?
Foot focuses on mapped points on the feet/lower legs; facial works on gentle points on the face/jaw/forehead. Both aim at relaxation and balance; choose by preference or combine across visits.
Do you offer evenings and weekends in Haywards Heath?
Yes. Appointments are available Monday to Sunday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, with free parking and disabled access.
Can I combine reflexology with massage or ear candling?
Yes. Popular pairings include reflexology with Indian Head Massage or a Natural Lift Facial Massage. We’ll plan timings safely.
How much does a reflexology session cost?
Reflexology is £45 for 45 minutes, Hot Stone Reflexology £50, and Facial Reflexology £45. Appointments run Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm, with free on-site parking.
Does foot reflexology actually work?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy rather than a medical treatment, and we do not claim that it treats, cures or prevents any condition. What a session reliably is: 45 quiet minutes of graded pressure on the feet and lower calves, at a firmness you control. Most people book it to relax. If you have a symptom that needs answering, see your GP first.
Does the NHS recognise reflexology?
Reflexology at the Clinic at Borde Hill is a private, self-funded complementary therapy. It is not provided through the NHS and it is not a replacement for NHS care — for anything new, persistent or acute, your GP comes first.
What can reflexologists tell from your feet?
Nothing diagnostic. Reflexology is not a diagnostic method, and your therapist cannot identify a medical condition from your feet. What she does notice is where you are tender and where you would rather she eased off, and she adjusts the session accordingly. If something on the foot itself needs medical attention, she will suggest your GP or our foot health service.
